Well here's something worthy of some attention - the 2nd battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment "The Poachers" has just returned from Afghanistan, and were to be formally welcomed back with a march through the streets of Luton to a reception with the Regiment's Colonel in Chief, the Duke of Gloucester.

They were met with a group of Islamist demonstraters waving placards declaring them to be murderers and butchers.

The main crowd who were there to welcome the troops promptly turned on the Islamists, waving the Union flag and chanting "Scum, scum, scum!"

Here's a Tim Blair blog entry with YouTube video of the incident.

The police had to form a cordon to protect the Islamists, who beat a hasty retreat.

Frankly, I'm pretty angry about this, and I daresay so are plenty of other people.

As well as a Blog News item about this, I was wondering if I ought to do a feature interview on the topic.

So, my bat-winged minions, any suggestions as to who might be in a position to provide some insight into the effect this has had on UK public opinion?

It doesn't have to be an actual news-maker, a well informed blogger would be fine.

E-mail me with your suggestions, or if you ARE in the UK and would like to have a say, send me your phone number and we'll see what we can work out.
